After just one season in Dallas, Damontae Kazee is reportedly heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On Saturday night, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler shared that the veteran DB is expected to sign a contract with the black and yellow.
Tweeting, “Free agent safety Damontae Kazee is signing a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.”
Noting Kazee’s a, “five-year veteran [that] has 12 career interceptions.”
A San Diego State alum, Damontae Kazee was a fifth round draft choice of the Atlanta Falcons back in 2017.
By year two, he secured the starting safety spot; and was very productive for Atlanta until his 2020 season was cut short by an Achilles injury.
That would be Kazee’s last year with the Falcons. But, his relationship with Dan Quinn helped land him on the Cowboys roster where he was able to return to a starting role.
Only time will tell if the Browns made the right decision trading for Watson.
